We have been busy!!!

My students created a Media Festival Project entitled Mrs. Johnson's Class, Mrs. Johnson's Class, What Do You See? fashioned after the classic Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?  Students wrote a sentence about something they saw and then illustrated it.  Although we did not make it to the county level, I believe we all truly enjoyed writing and illustrating our story and learning how to use Photo Story!
We have also been studying Light and Shadow, as well as Sound in Science.  We are learning about symbols of the United States and what it means to be a citizen of the U. S.  Learning the value of coins and recognizing them, as well as counting coins to purchase items has been tough, but we are still working very hard at it!  Almost every student increased their reading level when they re-took the STAR Reading test at the beginning of the 9 weeks!!
Parents, please continue to talk with your student about what they are learning, share experiences, help them apply their knowledge and increase it!!  Talk with your child, help him/her with homework, read together, practice Math together!
