Comparing, Estimating, and Measuring Length

Our pre-test results from today. Please work with your child to compare the length of objects (larger, smaller; taller, shorter; longer), estimate the length of something in non-standard units (such as paperclips) and standard units (such as inches), as well as use a ruler and non-standard units of measurement (such as paperclips) to correctly measure objects around the house. Talk about how to correctly line up the ruler or paperclip (or cubes or shoes or their feet) at the edge of the object you are measuring and, when using paperclips (cubes, etc), to make sure the paperclips, etc line up end to end without overlapping and there are no gaps. Please contact me if you have any questions!!
